Annimation development - Blueprints of the military Bot

Quick composition of the features of the militant robot.

Annimation - Ai progress - main outline and attachments

Playing around with some components for the early stages of the poster design. Next stage is to complete the entire line drawing and start to add tone and lighting into the design. I will look at existing tutorials via YouTube to better my knowledge in this field. Ivan.

Jewellery development

This is a variation on the last design. It has more similarities to the first badge design that we had printed.

Images showing the failures of the 3D printed badges. We have made three attempts thus far. The first was a quick 20 minute print, followed by a longer 1hour print and then a print with supports.

Due to the technical limitations of the animation 3D printer I have had the simplify the model. It has a flat top surface, but still can have the perspex fitted from the back.

This is similar to what we are thinking, however I'm not sure this will come into being in 9 years time.

Australian performance artist, Stelarc, had an artificial ear surgically implanted into his arm to bring attention to the ways in which technology is blurring what is morally acceptable in terms of life. Stelarc plans to install a microphone into the prosthetic ear, thereby allowing it to “hear.”

Development Phonotrope workshop

My first attempt at making a phonotrope. Had so much fun.

23/03/16

Possible scenarios were look at in regards to the negative impact of Robots replacing human in the work force.
We felt that there would be civil unrest and anger displayed by the working and lower class, this would be equally directed at the government, the private sector and our robot company. there would be anxiety about losing your job and the economic pressure this would create.  Their would also be tension between the wealthy individuals and those who could not afford a home help robot.

Meeating today 23/03/16 to discuss:
Final badge design.
Animation and armature
poster designs
Robot Company - goals, product, advertising.

CAD drawings of badge design were viewed and a choice made on the final design. It was decided that we would get the design 3D printed and then make make multiples using the silicon mould and investment casting technique. There is a small possibility to 3d print all 10 badges, however this is dependent on access to the 3D printers and length of time it would take to print. If casting will cast in bronze due to cost implications. It was agreed that a acrylic insert of differing colours would be used to highlight our departments within the company. This would be laser cut.

The animated/ illustrated robot design was seen and discussed. We discussed how we would layout the animation for our company product advert, which included a section  of stop motion animation of the Home robot. It was agreed that Tyler would work on the story board for the film and that this would be discuss on Friday.

The robot machetes/armatures internal form was seen and possible amendments discussed. We talked about the various ways we could construct the machetes/armatures and the possible modeling materials materials to use. Sculpt y and green sculpture wax are some of the possible materials. Concerns about time constraints were  raised about the construction of the machetes/armatures with regards to the stop motion and the animation film.

James showed us some poster designs and said he was working on more ideas.

The Robot companies business plan was agreed upon.

Also agreed on the colours to be used for the different robotic departments. Decided for ease and cost factors to only use five colours in our series of ten badges. (Two for each department being represented.) These will be: Armed Forces, Police, Fire service, Home help, Medical.

We will meet on Friday to review progress. In the meantime James will work on poster designs. Spencer and Ivan will work on building machetes/armatures. Tyler will work on animation  film and Nicky will get the CAD badge model finalised and organise  3D printing of master as well as getting the inserts for badge laser cut. Everybody will continue to do research relating to issues surrounding our project.
